What is LLLT?

Low Level Light Therapy, commonly referred to as LLLT, uses red and far infrared light over injured areas of the body to help promote wound healing, reduce inflammation and give relief from pain.

Is LLLT safe?

LLLT is safe, non invasive and drug free. Low level lasers have been used in Europe and Canada for over 20 years.  Contraindications for LLLT are: pregnancy, epilepsy, shining the light directly into the eye, under 18 or photosensitive medications.

Will the laser cause pain?

The laser is a cold laser and does not generate heat. Most clients feel nothing. On more sensitive energy points, some clients feel a slight tingling.

What part of the body is treated?

Depending on the individual needs of the client, energy points on the: ears, face, hands, legs and feet will be treated.

How long is a session?

The session lasts between 20 and 45 minutes.

How many treatments are needed?

The number of laser sessions required will vary due to individual needs.

Are the treatments covered by insurance?

Although some employers may be willing to pay for these services, LLLT for smoking cessation and weight loss is not presently reimbursable by insurance companies, as the FDA considers these treatments investigational. At this time, the FDA has only approved treating pain.
